Notes: "The Press at the Sign of the Scarlet Cockerel and leaden slivers (frequently trimmed to The Scarlet Cockerel Press) was derived from Ralph Babcock's family coat of arms, which sports a rooster's head atop, and 3 little roosters across the middle. The Scarlet Cockerel is also the name of his handsome journal which, in 20 years has made 33 appearances. In this mark by Helen R. Adam the bantam holds a stickful of type, of course." © James Lamar Weygand
